it's only been about 3 weeks since i blogged but things have changed!
cb has been extended by a whole month and tbh it hasn't rly changed life for me much since i mostly stay at home if i'm not working, but i can't see sherwin for yet another month so sad :'( this is LDR manz
this weekend was a great long weekend, but sadly it's back to the grind tomorrow. glad for this brief respite! but still life is passing by too quick man. mid-2020 mark is alr approaching! thats crayyy.

rainy mornings in bed :) it's been storming a lot lately, never knew April was monsoon season
mum was very excited to try cutting my hair the china way the one where they tie their hair like this, wet it and snip off a chunk horizontally. i've never cared much about my hair but i felt nervous when she was cutting it cos if it was bad, i wouldn't be able to go to any hairdresser to salvage it LOL
immediately afters! you can tell that there's a very short portion of hair on my left. i think it's cos i have a left-side parting and i forgot to account for that. not sure how i would have accounted though. tie my hair to the left side more? hahhaa
after my mum arranged it abit okay la, i would recommend this if you aren't fussy about your hair haha
we cut very little though, about 2 inches! but there is definitely a difference, so don't get adventurous and snip off a bunch, otherwise you will end up with a mullet
dad cooked sambal kangkong and stingray one day! it was nicee but he put too much sambal in the kangkong so i took forever to finish it
shake shack is decent but so expensive though. 久久一次 ok la amirite
don't worry if you didn't see this photo and suspect you're not on my close friends list or smth (i don't have one) LOL i didn't post it in the end cos it's really quite gross. i developed pericoronitis (see below) and had to extract 2 wisdom teeth. ugh really dislike surgeries :( only good thing that came out of it was staying home for 6 days straight. i just degen-ed at home haha

hello everyone hope quarantine has been going okay for yall
it's only been a day of staying at home for me and although i am an introvert and a homebody, not being able to go out of my house for extended periods of time is soo tough. i miss being able to go out freely!!
so i am back with questions 51 to 100 of conversation starter questions ahaha hope this isn't too boring for me to do and for yall to read :)
51. What pets did you have while you were growing up?
guppies, fighting fish, hamsters, terrapins, one time i had a crayfish. this was also the same time our guppy population had ballooned, so we had like 40 super pretty guppies all swimming around, and a random crayfish tank on top of it. good times.
52. Where would you spend all your time if you could?
travelling, just exploring, settling down in a few places for extended periods of time, learning about people and cultures and trying new foods, new things. that is the dream life if i were suddenly to become filthy rich. but of course like most people i don't think i could do that forever. after i'd travelled enough i would probably get my own place, find a job i love and work for the passion and not the money. goals!!
53. What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
maybe explore the amazon or something? so many things there that could kill you. sounds like a heck of an adventure.
54. What would be your ideal way to spend the weekend?
being on a weekend getaway! if not, brunch and coffee is great too.

57. What is the luckiest thing that has happened to you?
i think a lot of lucky things have happened to me actually. maybe... getting into amplified and later exco, even though i never even thought of joining exco? got into ampd even though i wasn't that good and didn't even bother to bring my own guitar which should have been a big red flag. but joining amplified changed my life and i can't imagine how uni would have been without all those memories forged with friends i would travel with and now get to call lifelong friends.
58. What are some small things that make your day better?
honestly when i am at work there are very few things that make my day better... i think just because i generally h8 being forced to do anything and going to a desk job every day at the same time and having to sit and listen to people drone on about things... it's very difficult and makes me question life. but we all need the money. some small things that make it more worthwhile are when i feel like i did a good job at my work i guess? occasionally i also slip out to eat alone. and also i do appreciate a good coffee.

end of lockdown... so ready for this whole virus thing to be over

maybe my very old and dirty gibson t-shirt? i have had it since 2010 or 2011 and i still wear it even though it has holes in it (small ones! hahaha like that makes it better) but it has been through so many years with me and i've worn it to concerts, to perform at gigs, on the most mundane days studying through my weekends, even to sleep. i've gotten rid of most of my t-shirts from then but i still have to keep this one somehow.
62. What is the most annoying habit that other people have?
when old people suck their teeth. when people interrupt you all the time. oh and not a habit, probably more of a pet peeve to me, but i can't stand people who walk reaaally slowly in front of you blocking your path, or stand on the right on escalators. come onnnn.
63. What game or movie universe would you most like to live in?
scott pilgrim! i would be such an NPC. and i wouldn't even mind. just let me be one of those random girls working with stacey and julie at the cafe or smth.
64. What is the most impressive thing you know how to do?
i have memorised the world map!

i play the drums in a band called okay by toby litt. it was very philosophical and changed my outlook on life for a while; would love to read it again if i could get my hands on it.

are there aliens?? if so, where? how are they like? okay that's prolly one question too many.
67. What are you interested in that most people haven’t heard of?
richard linklater films maybe? most people would know maybe one or two of his works and i think it would surprise them once they realised the thematic similarities between them.

it was a good job offer. everything else just seemed very dead-end to me.

maybe strasbourg, france. it was nothing really out of the ordinary and people were quite rude/unkind. the friends i was with made the trip a lot better.

"what did you have for lunch/what did you eat yesterday" banal small-talk questions along those lines... it drives me nuts. can't stand small talk, always super awkward for me

tables and benches! i like a nice-looking table set

40 minutes is crazy! maybe... the emo genre?

i actually always think it's amazing when you can talk to someone in their native tongue. back in konstanz a little girl hung around me at penny's while i was packing my groceries and i smiled at her, said hello and asked what was her name in german. and i felt so proud of myself when she replied me her name in a heartbeat like omg did anyone see that i just had a mini conversation with a little german girl.
76. What hobby would you get into if time and money weren’t an issue?
being a barista!

probably just eat and surf the net more LOL

for some reason i think it's enemies. they do instrumentals which are just so background music-like when you first start playing them, but then they capture your attention with cool melodic or rhythmic changes at all the right moments.
83. If you were dictator of a small island nation, what crazy dictator stuff would you do?
not very crazy dictator stuff, but i would invest in education, healthcare and infrastructure... so that people wouldn't want to leave. people leaving would be a huge problem for our economy since labour is the most vital resource for a small island nation! unless we were super rich in natural resources
84. What is something that most people consider to be a luxury, but you don’t think you could live without?
maybe air-con? LOL i really cannot sleep without air-con.

i would definitely ask about my family and close friends.

make-up. i get fashion to some extent but i don't understand how people can get so make-up crazy... like how many shades of pink you gon need for your eyes?

jesus christ superstar. i have watched it so many times growing up cos my parents are huge fans, but if i were to watch it for the first time now i can imagine it would be absolutely mind-blowing.
89. If you had unlimited funds to build a house that you would live in for the rest of your life, what would the finished house be like?
ahh oh my gosh. the possibilities are endless. i think it would be cosy yet spacious... too lazy to go into detail but maybe with a rustic/industrial/minimalistic theme, huge kitchen with an island and a high ceiling, a patio definitely, with a small garden or facing the ocean.
