Quick post :)
So today is my brother's birthday, and it also kind of hit me that today is 29th August.
Seriously, where does the time go? August is already coming to an end, before you know it the promos will come, the promos will fly by and we'll be partying hard, and then it'll be christmas and a whole new year all over again.
I know I say this a loooot and you guys are probably sick of reading it but. I'm terrified.
I'm terrified that all of life is going to pass us by just as quickly because we're always running and running, and there's just no time to think about time.
Anyway, these past few days have been pretty normal, just school and homework and bits and pieces of freetime and pretty much having my phone glued to me wherever I go. I think I'm getting way too addicted to my phone.
Not really because of social media or texting and all, but more of because I've finally figured out how to download youtube-converted-mp3 songs into my phone, which is really convenient, and hence now I practically have two music apps. Yayyyyyy
Highlight of the week was probably mugging yesterday at tampines with Jiams. We originally settled at McCafe, but were asked to leave after an hour or so because more customers were coming in. I like the manager, she was real polite about it :)
So we headed to Coffee Bean at T1. It was pretty empty, but no surprise there because most people aren't idiots like me and don't drink coffee around 8pm at night. (I ended up sleeping at 1.30am last night)
Overall I feel it was a pretty productive mugging session. Definitely much more productive than me just sitting here on my bedroom floor blogging from my phone.
Halfway through mugging, I zoned off a little and started thinking about random things, and decided to break the comfortable silence.
"Jiams?"
"What?"
"I just wanted to say I love you."
"Okay."
"Because I was thinking... I mean... What if one of us suddenly died?"
Her face was epic.
It was really just a random thought, I'm most definitely not suicidal or anything like that. But seriously, her reaction was priceless! Hahahaha
So September is coming, brace yourself for the 'time to wake Green Day up' jokes. :)

Your voice was the soundtrack of my summer
Hi guys!
So yesterday was a pretty good (but tiring) day for me.
I played basketball in the morning with Jiams, Dt, my bandmate Charles and his two friends from other schools haha what an odd group
But I really love basketball, it's so fun to play :)
And after that I went to shower and Jiams and Dt kindly waited for me in the toilet because I was scared to shower there alone hahaha. (seventh month you know, 以防万一)
Then they left and I went for my extra GP lesson with 12S16 and after that me, Huiyi and Shijia went to tamp for lunch :)
We ate at the foodcourt and after that Huiyi had to rush off to tuition so me and Shijia did a bit of shopping at T1. There's so many things I wanna buy :( New Look has some nice stuff and so does Topshop and I wish I could go to town to shop properly! Gah
After hanging out with her a while more, I went to study with my bandmates.
I don't know whether I can call it productive or not, I did get some work done but we also basically talked a lot of crap hahaha.

painting flowers
Should I cut my hair???????
I really don't know. My hair is pretty long now, about slightly more than halfway down my back, and it's kind of troublesome but then I like it long too. Oh well, I think I'll keep it for now.
Quick post before I go shower because I've been feeling sticky the whole day.
Yesterday was a good day because melons had a full meetup! We played basketball at the usual court near Et's house, felt just like old times :') Jiams and I reached first because she met me at simei to help me pump my basketball and her mom gave us a ride.
None of us wanted to pair with Et HAHAHA omg we're all so mean. Jiams and I paired and Dt had no choice but to pair with Et lolol. Me and Jiams won 11-6! Second round, I paired with Dt and we won 11-3 hahaha.
After basketball we went to lunch. Jiams and I passed Dt and Et our stuff and jogged all the way to Macs at t-mart to get there in time for Macs' breakfast though Jiams wums kept stopping along the way.
I've missed playing basketball :( Thinking back, it's been three years since melons first picked it up, man how time flies.
After basketball I went home and showered and went to study later with my bandmates till about 9+. It was pretty productive to me! :)
Promos are in 39 days, #leggo

Ps. When is the new MCR album coming out? :( I know we should be patient and all especially since we're probably awaiting a masterpiece, but ahhhh I can't wait!! Haha sometimes I wonder if MCR ever feels the pressure, just knowing millions of people worship them and expect their fifth album to be complete brilliance.

Others looked to us for what we built
Things that make me happy:
1. music. No matter how bad a day gets, music always, always makes it better. And people will change, and come and go, but music never will.
2. After-school dinners with my old friends.
3. morning air. Waking up at 7am in little quiet simei and hearing the birds chirp and feeling fresh just from inhaling the air that somehow doesn't smell polluted at all despite it being in an overpopulated city.
4. coming home from a long day out on a weekend and getting out of skinny jeans and into comfy shorts.
5. home-cooked food. Be it my dad's stir-fry and rice or spaghetti or sushi or my mom's soups, fish porridge or sandwiches.
6. playing a good game of sports.
7. band meet-ups.
8. taking out old photos, cards, letters and random notes and just smiling and thinking about old times.
9. long bus rides with music or a close friend.
10. being alone, sometimes.
11. the sun, but not too much of it. I hate rain.
12. being out at night
13. a good movie on tv
14. that feeling after you've completed your homework or a day of productive studying
15. you

Tell me was it all worth it
Hello :)
It's day 2 of our four-day long national day break and even though it wasn't really spent doing much, it's still good.
On a random note, my mom is overseas in Jakarta and that means I have been doing the housework for the past couple days :(
It's not much really, I skipped all the cleaning duties (eh heh heh shhh what's the point the house will just be dirty again when she comes back right) so I've just been doing the laundry and boiling water and throwing out the thrash, things like that.
I don't cook either, my dad does the cooking like he always does. No one requests my cooking unless they're tired of life.
So this morning I had tuition. Organic chem is so confusing D: but kind of fun in a weird way. LOL #nerd
My tutor, who's also a family friend, was digressing for a bit and asking what year I was born in and I said 1995.
I asked why and he said with a completely straight face that he was considering introducing this coursemate-friend of his to me, but the guy is a 1990 kid, 'a bit too old for you right' he said.
And at first I was just stunned and then the whole situation just got funnier and funnier when he started listing out all the virtues of his friend.
I didn't think much of it and joked about it later on whatsapp to T, and she replied "I think he cares a lot for you" and then I realised she was right, it was actually very... I don't know what's the word, kind? sweet? moving? of him to do that.
I remembered him mentioning things like "I think he's a very good catch, he's like a family guy and very kind", and "I think he's a good guy and you're a good girl."
And I felt so 'd'aww' cause in a way he was sort of thinking about my future. It was like having a real big brother for a moment.
And yeah I do have an older brother but he's extremely, extremely immature, you wouldn't believe it if I told you, and I have to baby him a lot, so sometimes (or rather most of the time) I feel a lot more like an older sister or an only child.
It's just one of the little random things like that that make your day, when you realise people care about you :')
I'm not saying I feel like people don't care about me haha but ok you get what I mean.
And after tuition I tried to cram in a bit of work before I went jamming. Yes, again. Haha I've been jamming so much, I actually feel guilty. Jamming's not cheap, plus all the time you accumulate in a studio could amount to the same time you could have spent completing quite a bit of work.
We did Seven Nation Army by The White Stripes, Na Na Na by MCR, Jamie All Over by Mayday Parade, 21 Guns by Green Day, Tears Don't Fall by BFMV, Jet Lag by Simple Plan.
I love jamming, and the fact that this is the most active band I've ever been in, but I think today might have been the last jamming sesh for me till after promos.
I really need to put in more effort in my studies, I know I've been neglecting it because of music and recently I also flunked a physics paper for the first time in college. Not a good thing :(((
Song of the week is The Cali Buds by A Skylit Drive. It's a very short but sweet song by a very, very talented band. It's also about the friendship between six guys in that same band, and the lyrics may be few but the music speaks a lot.
Off to bathe, then do some chemistry. I /might/ be going to town tomorrow with Jiams, though I really really shouldn't, but I need new shoes, and maybe a couple of band tees :/

When the air is filled with dust and dying dreams
I'm back!
There's so much to talk about, I don't even know where to begin.
Firstly, about the auditions I was talking about in my previous post. My band didn't get through :( I was just moping the rest of the day away because really, we worked so hard.
I really don't think it's because we aren't good or anything, we just happened to screw up. Sigh. But it's okay, we'll learn from our mistakes :) there's always a next time.
My other group did get through though. I'll be blunt and say it was kinda unexpected for me haha because I didn't think we would stand out or anything; we did a relatively simple song. I think it was JC's voice that got us through. Still, I'm proud of us :)
So I realise this is my second time performing for school, the first was Soul Night and it was with 12S16, it was fun :)
But neither is with my band :/ I really hope we get to perform someday.
school has been nuts. I really really feel like I don't have a life anymore. I used to go out sometimes to have dinner with my friends (lepak-ing under the night sky with Jiams will always be a fond memory) or go to town occasionally.
But I haven't gone to town in so long and sometimes when I actually have fun I feel guilty, like I'm not supposed to :( I don't think I'm stressed or anything like that. Just tired.
I really miss having a life.
Song of the week is Hallelujah by Kate Voegele. I love her voice.
The song is beautiful written and it does things to your heart, especially when she sings the opening lines "Well I've heard there was a secret chord David played and it pleased the Lord, but you don't really care for music do you."
Ok off to... what? Yep you guessed it, work. #nolife
Haha
