Seventeen years

Holy crap, I listened to this song all the time in sec4 and just discovered it again. It's still just as good as I remembereddddd

Finished all my tutorials hehe so I'm lepaking on the internet. Life these days is getting lazier. I like. (lazier... for now)

Wuhh I cannot. All the sec4 feels re-ignited when I listen to this song

Left with less than 5 weeks to the end of finals. OMG.

Nothing's wrong, nothing's right

Today was such a good day!!! :)

Met Jiams at Kem at 8.30am and she drove us to ECP to cycle. Feels like quite long since I've cycled! Love going to ECP to cycle. We got a double bike and I managed to sit at the front to steer us both!! (albeit for five minutes) Couldn't do it at first and about to give up. But on my last try we succeeded. Heheh

Drove to AHS to attempt to have lunch there. The usual guard waved us in without asking any questions when Jiams said we were going to collect our SGCs. Perks of having a car

Hadn't been back to AHS in ages! About two years I think? Saw a lot of ex-teachers but none of them recognized us LOL. Ms Koh (our sec1 form teacher) glanced at us and turned away without a hint of recognition. :(

It was soo good to be back in AHS! Some of the best times of my life were spent there and it's so nice to go back and see how almost nothing has changed. And all the kiddies looked so small omg did we really look that cute last time??

Went home and procrastinated until about 4pm before finally starting on my science of music essay which is due this sat. Proud to say I've completed and submitted it already hehehe not bad right. Wrote an 800-word essay from scratch in 4 hours! (ok doesn't sound like that much of a feat but it really was)

Time for bed good night!

Brand New

"yey you replied to my prev comment!! I know its tough (I'm feeling quite depressed these 2 days too because I am so clueless about a mid term that's coming up next tues :(( ) but that said, I think at least we tried. So don't be too sad over it!! ~~always look on the bright side of life~~ ^_^"

Thank you Lummie :) all the best to you too!

So I coincidentally received a card in the mail from SJ the last day I blogged- opened it and the first thing I saw was 'HANG IN THERE' and I immediately started tearing up haha. Thank you, thank you. Too much sweetness. Will always be extremely thankful that I met these two girls in JC (and also perpetually amazed that despite all of our differences, we are such close friends)

And it is WEEK 10! Has it really been a full 10 weeks (including recess week) since the start of Year 1 Sem 2? I can't believe it.

I've been looking forward to this week for ages because now I can finally breathe a little, although there  is still lots of things to do (eg. german test 8am tomorrow and I have not done anything to prepare for it. I swear the number of things to do for german never ends.)

Got to know the people in Amplified a lot better after joining exco this sem, and I'm really glad. Everyone is funny and super diverse and it's great vibes all around when I'm with them.

So last Friday was Amplitube 2015! Went down early afternoon to help out, but felt bad that I couldn't help much with a lot of things like lugging the heavy equipment down (my arm muscles cmi) and stage setup (my technical knowledge when it comes to music is nada).

Had a great time playing onstage in the early evening :))) Love gigs

However after my bass solo, my sweaty fingers slid down an extra fret and the mistake was super obvious... oops

Fun part was getting to watch all the bands afterwards! Esp the alumni / super senior bands- I watched them with stars in my eyes. Tony's EDM band definitely stole the show however. Most entertaining act of the night!

Went home feeling super tired but happyyyy

The next day was the vietnamese concert I agreed to perform for- Esta Noche 2015. I said in the last post that I really regretted signing up for this concert, but after going and playing for it I've changed my mind haha. It was pretty amazing. It kinda opened my eyes to Vietnamese culture and the language, and apparently it's actually a super huge annual event amongst the vietnamese student community- it was a full house show and many performers were actually from other local unis. Most of them were singers, and they were brilliant!

My set was funnn :)

At the end of the night all the performers came together onstage to sing a medley of english and vietnamese songs, and though I couldn't tahan the very weird tempo changes it was still an aww moment. Concert vibes are always good vibes.

OMG just checked my SOM results and I got 24/25 OMG YAY

I remember the day of the SOM test was a really shit day, not only because it was Monday, but also because I happily arrived at the usual lecture venue early, and 5min before the exam was scheduled to begin, nO ONE WAS THERE. I started panicking, checked ivle and found out I had all rights to panick, because the exam was AT MPSH. Made my way to the bus stop with a pale face, saw a bus there and raaaaaan like a mad lady. Must've gotten a few stares, but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Thank GOD when I reached there the doors hadn't opened yet although it was three minutes past scheduled starting time. And also thank God it wasn't at faculty of Science (it's a science module) cause I would have died travelling there.

Lesson learnt: always, always check for announcements. I never want to have to experience something like that again. It was horrifying.

Ok bye shit german test

See em running for their lives

Finally managed to get a seat on the train, and then a man who reeks heavily of cigarette smoke plops down next to me. Fml

Been feeling quite terrible lately due to stress. To cut a long story short, I'm doing badly in uni and I'm extremely worried, because I wish I knew what was wrong but I don't. I plan my studying every week and I follow my schedule quite well, and then my results come out and it's just... shitty. Am I not clocking in enough hours? Is my foundation weak? Am I not getting enough practice? Or is my best just not good enough?

Feeling very worn out although it's only mid week. Rocking a headache now which is annoying af, but I can't rest when I reach home because I've a german test tomorrow (which I guess is still ok because I like german much more than econs. If only I could major in it) and a super long day tomorrow.

Friday is Amplitube, gotta be there by 2pm to help out, and the whole Saturday is gone due to a gig that I regret signing up for because it's been giving me a lot of trouble.

But ok, I'm mainly just upset because of my grades. And my stupid headache.

Man, this is really not my week. Can't wait for it to be over.

Sorry bout the moody post.

But on a brighter (better?) note, sometimes I think I am truly blessed to be surrounded by people who genuinely care for me. Even though you all complain about me being weird or always not replying your texts, and I miss your outings and wish you late on your birthdays, you guys still stick around, and do all kinds of little things that you may not realize actually mean a lot to me.

So I am thankful for each and every one of you angels.

We are indifferent

It's the end of e-learning week!

Even though there were no lessons in school this week, it was still a crazy week for me. Every day felt like a mad rush from the moment I woke up. Especially thursday when I woke up at 9am, only realized I had gig prac at 10am all the way in NUS when someone said "see you guys later" on the whatsapp group, and then I felt super kancheong as I immediately started to fly around the house. Totally not a good way to start the day haha

Didn't have to go back for lessons, but still had to go to school almost every day for practice. Didn't even manage to touch drums this week. Definitely limiting myself to a max of one gig next sem (say say only)

Also just found out that one of my gigs next week is a legit concert omg. Like people have to pay an entrance fee and all. I thought it was just a free-for-all thing at YIH or something. HAHA.

And this week's e-learning load for German had no mercy omg. But I managed to finish the week's worth of work in one day. AWWYEAH

On a more serious note, I realize I love when people open up to me hahaha. Even though I often have little clue what to say in such situations, I really appreciate it when people do that. It's like they trust me enough to tell me things, and that makes me happy. hahaha

Next week is gonna be another crazy week. And the semester is passing wayyyy too quickly. Week 9... 10... 11... 12... 13... then reading week and finally finals week. Omg. But on the other hand, I CAN'T WAIT FOR MY THREE-MONTH BREAK. ahhhhhhh

Slipping away

MIDTERMS ARE OVER.

Felt damn damn shiok on Saturday when I finally finished my 2102 paper (which was very shitty because it was conducted in lt8 where the chairs have no proper backrest so my neck and back were like ... for the entire duration of 2 hours)

Also couldn't finish the paper :( and it sucked because I knew how to do the last part. I just didn't have time to do it. But anyways, it was over.

Wanted to go celebrate at Sunday Folks, some cafe at Holland V, with Jiams after that, but waiting time was 45min. Us being greedy, we couldn't wait so we went to have ice-cream at a nearby parlour instead. No regrets! The ice-cream was SUPER yumz omgg. Highly recommended. But I can't remember the name. LOL. It's prolly a good idea to share if you get the $6.20 brownie with a scoop of ice-cream (which I did) cause it's very filling. But omg both my brownie and avocado ice-cream were sooooo good

Slacked at Star Vista after that, then had ITACHOOO for dinner. Such a food-filled day. I love.

Next plan was to go find ET at her hostel in NUS, then cook some super spicy korean instant noodles that Jiams bought, and finally go to utown to lepak (again). Did both of the former but had no time to do the latter in the end

I felt like a real hostel student in the pantry when we were cooking the noodles hahaha. And the noodles were soooo yummy. Love spicy noodles. (Although I cannot take spice very well.) We wanted to save some for ET but by the time she finished showering and came to find us at the lounge it was all gone. LOL

Didn't manage to go to utown cause her hostel friends came in and we somehow got roped in to play a board game with them. It was stressful for me cause I suck at board games. I think I suck at games in general actually

Spent sunday / International Women's Day (Happy birthday again Shijia!!) in the studio with two guys

We laid down basic tracks for my original. Hehehe first time properly recording and mixing an original of mine! Then we had dinner and slacked at the food court talking about music and gossiping until 10pm.

Went over to Jiams' yesterday morning to study and get a free lunch. Ended up mostly playing with her super cute niece. Babies when they are age 1 to 2 are TOO ADORABLE I cannooot.

Slacked the whole of today away. Went to town to window-shop though yay

On a more serious note, why am I always on the wrong side of the bell curve? It makes me so sad. It's not like I'm not putting effort into my studies either. Am I not studying hard/smart enough? Sigh, as if my ongoing existential crisis isn't enough.

ok bye dinnertime! sorry for the unentertaining post

(edit: just imessaged an essay to Carmentta to update her about my life. I still marvel, every time I get to talk at her, at how technology has progressed- that she is on the west coast of the United States, all the way across the oceans and vast stretches of land, and I am in a small island-city in Southeast Asia so we are literally at the furthest ends of the earth from each other, and yet we can communicate almost anytime we want to. How amazing is that?)

Can't repeat

And I'm just wishing I could stop, but
Life goes on
Come of age

Can't hold on
Turn the page
Time rolls on
Wipe these eyes
Yesterday laughs
Tomorrow cries

Pretty generic lyrics on Can't Repeat, but the awesome music makes up for it and actually kind of makes the words seem to ring truer.

I have been telling people recently, "(insert band name here) is actually pretty popular underground," and the other day someone finally pointed out to me how ironic it sounds. LOL. Never realized.

Also, someone asked me if I had a blog because of how much I seem to like writing. Felt so bad about lying when I said no, but I am so not ready for people to stumble upon a site that contains seven years' worth of almost-daily written entries from me, many of them straight from the heart.

It's like accidentally walking out of your house naked (not that I would know)

But ya I realize how easy it is for anyone to stalk me if they wanted to. They can just type in my name, my school, names of my close friends and whatever useful personal details they have about me, and they can easily find an entry or two.

(sekali that friend of mine already found my blog, in which case, dayumm...)

ok bye LAST MIDTERM TOMORROW HALLELUJAH

(listen to the Offspring album pls it is damn good I cannot)

Hi friends

Brought my laptop to school to accompany me for the three-hour break. Should prolly start on my tutorials (since I'll be busy this weekend) or at least revise for the midterm for the most painful module yet- ec2102. But lazyyyy

Anyways, DOWN WITH THREE MIDTERMS!!! WOOHOOOOO damn shiok

Days like these I kinda wish I lived in hostel so I can just walk back and crash in my room. Feeling sleepy now

I dread studying for ec2102 :(((
