good dayyy
it is 5 days to the end of 2023, can't believe another year just zoomed by like that :')
life updates
i just wanna say pregnancy so far has been decent to me, thank heavens.
best parts of pregnancy:
1. a great excuse to be fat. im not fat, just pregnant!
2. a great excuse to eat whatever you want
3. a great excuse to just be sitting around all day. ok no, i don't advocate not exercising at all if you can. but i do have low placenta so i need to avoid even moderate exercise. long walks for me are out too altho i love them, because my hands and feet have started to swell and standing or walking for too long is quite unbearable for me. i received house slippers at secret santa this year and they have been such a lifesaver because even standing up on the bare floors in the morning after not moving all night hurts my feet
4. no periods!!!!
worst parts of pregnancy:
1. sometimes im more emotional than usual
2. the hurting feet. and im glad i don't use my hands for a living (other than to type on computers) cos they're also swollen and i can't even make a fist without feeling some pain now
3. the initial morning sickness was by far the worst. but thank God that's over now (fingers crossed it doesn't come back). it subsided around 10 weeks
and without further ado, here's a 2023 recap! i expect that with a baby on the way, my blogging will be even less frequent than now (unbelievable right) not sure if i will even have time to post a 2024 recap next year ):
1. i got a puppy around cny. thought she could be my forever friend, but long story short i realised i was truly not ready for a puppy... she is in a wonderful, loving home now though with a lot more attention and puppy dates than i would have given her. and we still board or visit her every fortnight or so, v glad it all turned out well!
2. went to italy for our honeymoon! i think i was quite unlucky this holiday, and also unprepared for the fluctuating temperatures given we went between seasons. but still a great time nevertheless, especially in florence and cinque terre where i was very wowed by the sights and the amazing food. we definitely had most of our best meals and experiences in these two places.
3. went to my first indian wedding! also in general there were so many weddings this year. pretty sure there will be even more next year. we are at that age now haha
4. visited bali for the second time! always a great time in bali
5. came home from bali and found out i was preggie 😭💗
6. went to three concerts this year - the strokes, mayday parade (third time seeing them woohoo) and saosin. so glad concerts are back, and so lucky i got to see three of my fav bands this year. i can't even say what my favourite one was because they're all so different. the strokes pretty much played true to record, sounded just like the studio version, and everyone in the band has so much charisma/stage presence that i was in awe throughout. they also unexpectedly played my fav song from them (what ever happened) which they seldom play live. mayday parade is a classic sing-along band, feels trip all around, the guys are super down-to-earth and nice. saosin prolly took me by surprise the most, cos cove reber took the stage for their asia tour instead of anthony green, and he was AMAZING live. i was totally shookt to hear those vocals. also my first time going alone to a concert! my feet were hurting so i only came when they were about to start playing, and left an hour later once they ended their last song haha.
7. got covid again....
here's to 2024, hope it'll be a better year than 2023!
merry belated christmas everyone, and a very happy new year :)
